This is my first speedpaint. I'll show you how to do it.
[Speedpaint] Paint Tool Sai - Chica cantante
First, I chose a Sakura Card Captor image because I wanted to copy the same image, but then I decided to create a different character. So, I copied the pose of Sakura, and then, I created my own character.
Sketch: I decided to use a blue pen using a simple layer to create my character's figure.
Once I finished the sketch, in a different layer called "linework", which is specifically used to create lines. In that layer, I used the tool called "curve" to make the final lines of my drawing. If we use the "linework" layer with tools like "pen" o "curve" to create figures like the eye's circles, we could select specific parts of our drawing with a tool called "magic wand" in order to paint much easier.
Here I have a good example of not using the "linework" layer. So, if you want to select specific parts of your drawing, you have to use the tool called "select."
Nevertheless, if we use the "magic wand" using the "linework" layer, you will select specific parts of your drawing like in the image below.
Finally, I used the "marker brush" to paint the whole drawing.
Also, I used the "watercolor brush" to paint the bow.
